dear daughter-in-law of the 
late Roy and the late Sylvia 
Rotter. 
Interment was at Clover 
Hill Park Cemetery.

ELAINE SARKO, 
88, died peaceful-
ly in her sleep on 
Dec. 2, 2022. She 
celebrated her 
birthday on July 
29, 2022, in Palm Desert, 
where she relocated a year 
earlier to be closer to family.
Born and raised in Detroit, 
she married Emanuel Sarko 
when she was 18 and they 
spent 55 years together before 
his passing in 2007. In 1978, 
they moved to Scottsdale, 
Ariz., where they established 
a beautiful home and lived 
there for more than 40 years.

The family will miss her 
terribly and are grateful for 
the amazing life she had. A 
devoted wife and mother, 
Elaine had two successful 
careers in real estate and 
fashion. In addition, she was 
president of Haddasah in 
Michigan and volunteered for 
many philanthropic causes. 
Elaine loved people, espe-
cially her many dear friends. 
She was a master bridge 
player and avid news viewer. 
Above all, she adored her 
family and was so proud to 
be a great-grandmother. 
Mrs. Sarko is survived by 
her daughter, Suzen Sarko; 
her grandsons, Brandon and 
Stephen Ravet; her daugh-
ter-in-law, Sigi Ravet; her 
great-grandson, Shiloh; and 
family dogs Stella, Sophie and 
Sami. 
She was predeceased by her 
son, Albert. 

SHIRLEY JEAN WEINGROT, 
93, of Farmington Hills, died 
Dec. 26, 2022. 
She is survived by her 
daughter and son-in-law, 
Cathy and Grant Shafer; sons 
and daughter-in-law, Steven 
and Kelly Weingrot, and Erik 
Weingrot; grandchildren, 
Stephen and Lalana Weingrot, 
Kevin and Lesa Weingrot, 
Michael Weingrot and his 
fiancee, Paige Sharrow, and 
Heather Shafer; great-grand-
children, Anya, Colton and 
Amelia Weingrot; sisters, Rhea 
Blum and Jane Williams; many 
loving nieces and nephews.

cherished mother of the late
