90, of West 
Bloomfield,

Brooklyn, N.Y., 
passed away 
peacefully on Dec. 16, 2022. 
She is survived by her 
husband of 66 years, Norman 
Rosenberg; daughter, Robin 
Bloom (the late Richard 
Bloom); son, Mark, and 
daughter in-law, Lisa; loving 
grandchildren, Jenny and 
Andrew Moel, Courtney and 
Evan Malkin, Alex and Rick 
Rigutto, and Ryan Rosenberg; 
adorable great-grandchildren; 
Monroe and Briar Malkin; 
many other family members 
and devoted friends 
throughout her life whom she 
always treated as family. 

Mrs. Rosenberg will be 
missed by all who were lucky 
to kno…w and love her. As 
the fashion-loving matriarch 
of the family, she would say ... 
“that’s all.” 
Interment was held at 
Clover Hill Park Cemetery in 
Birmingham. Contributions

FREEMAN 
SHWAYDER, 96, 
of Bloomfield 
Hills, died Dec. 
19, 2022. 
A musical 
prodigy from age 3, Joann 
attended Central High 
School and the University of 

Michigan, earning degrees 
in chemistry from Vassar 
College and in music from 
the Juilliard Conservatory. 
She married Warren 
Shwayder in 1947, and they 
raised four sons while she 
continued her solo piano 
career. In 1969, she founded 
the first chamber music 
series in Oakland County, 
the American Artists Series, 
which became the focus of 
her artistic career for three 
decades.
Mrs. Shwayder is lovingly 
remembered by her sons and 
daughters-in-law, Michael 
and Mary Beth, Mark and 
Susan, Tor and Aimee Ergas, 
and Walter and Kathe; her 
grandchildren, Mark (Aggie), 
Ariel (Nicole Klekowski),
