ZIVIA S. 
GREKIN, was 
born Zivia 
Seltzer, Oct. 26, 
1918; she died 
Dec. 8, 2022. 
Mrs. Grekin was married to 
John N. Grekin for 72 years; 
he died in 2012. Zivia had a 
degree in economics from the 
University of Michigan and 
a master’s of education from 
Wayne State University. Her 
long life was filled with fam-
ily, travel, adventure, music, 
books and much love.
Zivia was the mother 
of Linda Shubow and Ken 
Grekin; mother-in-law of 
Linda Grekin and Danny 
Wood. She is also survived 
by three grandchildren, 
Joe Grekin (Jenn McKee), 
Emily Grekin (Chris Russell) 
and Josh Grekin (Deleska 
Crocket); six great-grandchil-
dren, Abby and Kara Russell, 
Neve and Lily Grekin McKee, 
and Maya and Zoey Grekin; 
beloved aunt of Marty and 
Ruthie Seltzer. 
Mrs. Grekin was the moth-
er of the late Roger Grekin.
Interment was at 
Beth El Memorial Park.
