Joshua Caleb Cooper (Yoel) will be called to 
the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Adat Shalom 
Synagogue in Farmington Hills on Saturday, 
Dec. 3, 2022. Proud parents are Tammi and 
Scott Cooper. He will be joined in celebration 
by his siblings Adam and Elisha. Kvelling 
grandparents are Sarah and David Waldshan of 
Farmington Hills, and Hannah and Jerry Cooper of 
Atlanta, Georgia.
Josh is a student at Walnut Creek Middle School in 
West Bloomfield. His most meaningful mitzvah project 
was donating money and new socks to a Ukraine 
charity project.

Young Adult Breakfast with
Consul General 

SAM KOLE AJC YOUNG LEADERSHIP ASSOCIATE 

ACCESS Detroit held its first program in over a year at 
Platform 18 in Royal Oak. Along with NEXTGen Detroit, 
ACCESS Detroit hosted a Young Leaders Diplomatic 
Breakfast with Consul General of Israel to the Midwest 
Yinam Cohen. 
Young Leaders engaged in a thoughtful conversation over 
bagels and lox with the Consul General on subjects ranging 
from climate change, health equity and Israel’s geostrategic 
role in a rapidly evolving Middle East. 
This is the first in a series of events planned to engage 
Detroit’s Young Jewish leaders in diplomatic and advocacy 
centered programming.
