ROBERT “BOB”
FINEMAN, 83,
of Delray Beach,
Fla., passed
away Nov. 10,
2022, after a
wonderful life and a 40-year
battle with heart disease
that he fought valiantly
until his last days.
Originally from the
Bronx, Bob attended West
Hempstead High School
in New York, where he
met Shari. Bob was a track
star in high school, avid
poker player and graduate
of Cornell University and
Columbia University Law
School.
After he started his legal
career in New York, Bob
and Shari moved with
their two young children
to Detroit, where Bob had
a long and distinguished
career as a trial lawyer at
the Honigman law firm;
he served as the captain
of the firm’s softball team
and retired as the Head of
Litigation in 1997.
One of Bob’s proudest
accomplishments in Detroit
was serving as the founding
president of Temple Shir
Shalom. In 1998, Bob left
behind his days as a long-
suffering Detroit Lions fan,
and he and Shari moved to
Delray Beach.
Although it could never
have been long enough
for his family, Bob lived
an accomplished and full
life, filled with hobbies
(golfing, building amazing
model ships and railroads,
passionately consuming
books); most of all, he spent
treasured time with good
friends and a family who
loved him and will miss
him dearly.
