died Oct. 17, 2022.
He was the
beloved hus-
band of the late Elaine
Newman; dear father of
Dr. Joshua Newman, Max
(Amy) Newman and Liz
(Brent DeBoer) Newman;
loving grandfather of Jared
and Eli Newman, Elijah and
Ravi Appelman, and Nathan
Newman; devoted brother of
Lois (the late Benji) Pearlman
and the late Lawrence (Libby)
Newman; dearest son of the
late Max and Pearl Newman.
He is also survived by his
beloved pet, Chai; and devot-
ed caregivers, including
Shosanna, Carol and Carmen;
many other loving family
members and friends.
Interment was held a
Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Cemetery in Livonia.

SHAPIRO, 90, of

died Oct. 14, 2022.
She was a lov-
ing mother to her
daughters, Jill Shapiro (fiancé
Mike Perry), Debbie (Sheldon)
Rosenberg and Wendy Ruben;
an adoring and proud grand-
mother of Jordan, Danny
(Amanda), Ryan Rosenberg,
and Dana (Noah) Cohen;
great-grandmother of Laya,
Mikaela, Oziah, Nathan, Noah
and Eden Rosenberg, and
Cameron Cohen; her dear sis-
ter, Phyllis Beare.
Mrs. Shapiro was preceded
in death by her parents, Jack
and Esthere Koratzky; her
sisters, Leatrice Malach and
