Jewish community. Anniversaries, engagements and weddings 
with a photo (preferably color) can appear at a cost of $18 
each. Births are $10. There is no charge for bar/bat mitzvahs 
or for special birthdays starting at the 90th.

ildred Kaye of Ann 
Arbor celebrated her 
100th birthday on 
Sept. 11, 2022, with lots of 
chocolate cake, balloons and 
dozens of roses. Her daughter 
and son-in-law are Barbara 
Kaye and John Hogikyan; 
her grandchildren are Laura 
Hogikyan and husband, Peter 
Callahan, Allison Hogikyan and 
fiancé, Matt Wozniak. She was 
the mother of the late Diane 
Kaye.

a bar mitzvah 
with a service

2022. Proud parents are 
Julie and Sam Beznos. He 
was joined in celebration by 
his siblings Elle and Blake. 
Dylan is the loving grandson 
of Barbara and Harold 
Beznos, and Alan Edelson. 
He is also the grandson of 
the late Gayle Lasky 
Edelson and David Lasky. 
Dylan is a seventh-grade 
student at Cranbrook. For 
one of his mitzvah proj-
ects, Dylan asked that his 
friends and family donate to 
Karmanos Cancer Institute 
for the David Lasky and 
Gayle Edelson Fund and to 
Tamarack Camps.

Lorna Tate 
Harris, daughter 
of Brenda and 
Alan Harris, will 
be called to the 
Torah as a bat 
mitzvah at Temple Israel in 
West Bloomfield on 
Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022. She 
will be joined in celebration 
by her brothers Cameron 
and Owen, and her sister 
Charlotte. Lorna is the loving 
grandchild of Patricia and 
the late Harry Colombo, and 
Michelle and Dr. Joel Harris. 
She is a student at 
Bloomfield Hills Middle 
School. An avid reader, 
Lorna chose as her most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
reading books to Israeli stu-
dents via video recording.

Isabel Sloane

daughter of

Rothschild, will 
be called to the 
Torah as a bat mitzvah at 
Temple Israel in West 
Bloomfield on Friday, Oct. 
14, 2022. She will be joined 
in celebration by her brother 
Mason. Isabel is the loving 
grandchild of Renee and 
Barry Bean, and Odie and 
Jeffrey Rothschild. 
She is a student at West 
Hills Middle School in West 
Bloomfield. As a volunteer 
buddy for West Bloomfield-
based Friendship Circle, 
Isabel selected her most 
meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect as collecting items for 
Friendship Circle to use in 
their programming. 

Milo Nathan 
Kaufman 
Techner, son of 
Ashley and Ari 
Techner, will lead 
the congregation 
in prayer as a bar mitzvah at 
Temple Israel in West 
Bloomfield on Saturday, Oct. 
15, 2022. He will be joined 
in celebration by his sister 
Dahlia. Milo is the loving 
grandchild of Ilene and 
David Techner. He is the lov-
ing great-grandchild of the 
late Babs and the late Herb 
Kaufman, the late Doreen 
Gordon and the late Helen 
Greenberg. 
Milo is a student at 
Campbeltown Grammar 
School in Scotland. His most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
was volunteering as a shop-
per’s aide with his school 
as a member of their Pupil 
Council and Equality Group.
