Eva also enjoyed giving back, 
particularly to creating a better 
democracy. She spent more than 
58 years volunteering at the 
League of Women Voters and 
earned the league’s prestigious 
Belle Brotherton Award. She 
also supported numerous causes, 
particularly involving voting and 
education, including active sup-
port to the Detroit Public School 
Foundation despite having no 
children of her own.
Eva was married to Robert 
Saul Packard. She is survived by 
her twin brother, John Kuhn, 
and numerous nephews and 
nieces. Eva and Bob were active 
participants in the lives of their 
siblings, nephews and nieces. 
They also greatly enjoyed travel-
ing to see the world and family 

members. 
Interment was held at 
Clover Hill Park Cemetery. 
Contributions may be made 
to League of Women Voters of 
Oakland Area. Arrangements by 
Dorfman Chapel.

SIDNEY JACK 
RUBENSTEIN, 
passed away on 
Sept. 18, 2022.
He was born Dec. 
10, 1931, in Detroit 
and graduated from Central 
High School in 1948; he was 
captain of the golf team. He went 
on to Wayne State University, 
class of 1952, graduated from 
dental school at University of 
Detroit in 1956 and served as 
a captain in the United States 
Army.
Sidney had one sister, 

Constance Smith (deceased 
1993). He was happily married 
to Roseann for 39 years; she died 
in 2005. 
His contributions to the lives 
of many include being a part of 
the original cleft palate team, 
providing free care for children 
and serving on the board at 
Desert Memorial Hospital for 
many years. He was a beloved 
member of the community and 
a friend to everyone he met. His 
legacy will live on in the hearts 
and minds of everyone who ever 
met him.
Mr. Rubenstein is survived 
by his four daughters, Judy 
(Joel), Suzy (Arthur), Deanna 
(Tommy) and Heidi (Katie); and 
his six grandchildren, Jessica 
(Alex), Lizzy, Stephi, Alix, Riley 
and Jack. 
A burial was held at Desert 

Memorial Park in Cathedral 
City, Calif.

MARTIN LAWRENCE 
RUBIN, 102, was a resident 
of Denver for 12 years, Mount 
Clemens for 86 years, Detroit for 
four years. 
The Rubins were mainstays 
of the Jewish community in 
Macomb County and Beth 
Tephilath Moses Synagogue. 
Martin earned his M.B.A. 
from the University of Michigan. 
He served in WWII with the 
U.S. Army Airforce. He was 
a longtime member of the 
Rotary Club in Mt. Clemens 
and was active in B’nai B’rith 
for many years. He also served 
on the Michigan State Board of 
Commerce. 
Mr. Rubin is survived by his 
children, Dr. Linda Bolton and
