DR. MARCEL 
HALBERSTADT, 
85, of West 
Bloomfield, died 
Sept. 14, 2022. 
He was born 
in France and moved to 
Washington Heights, N.Y., 
with his family when he was 
11 years old. He is a proud 
alumnus of Yale University, 
where he got his Ph.D. in 
physical chemistry. 
He, Lucille and their 
children were proud and 
active members of Young 
Israel of Oak Park for many 
years. 
Mr. Halberstadt is 
survived by his wife, 
Lucille; daughters, Lisa 
Rowinski of Beverly Hills, 
Lori Halberstadt of West 
Bloomfield; grandchildren, 
Bram Rowinski, Jett 
Rowinski, Rain Rowinski; 
brother-in-law, Max 
Chorowski; nieces, Amanda 
Chorowski, Sylvie and 
Miriam Shaffer, Molly and 
Richard Parr, Marcianne and 
George Laycock, Catherine 
Muzic.
He was the dear brother 
and brother-in-law of the 
late Suzanne Chorowski, the 
late Veronica and the late 
William Muzic. 
Contributions may be

11 Mile, Berkley, MI 48072. 
The funeral service was held 
at Hebrew Memorial Chapel. 
Interment took place at Beth 
Tefilo Emanuel Cemetery in 
Ferndale. Arrangements by 
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

HOROVITZ, 86, 
of Bloomfield 
Hills, died Sept. 
18, 2022.
