SPOTLIGHT The Zekelman Holocaust Center welcomed U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence (MI-14) Aug. 26 as part of her work as a co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Black and Jewish Unity. Lawrence was joined by State Senators Jeremy Moss (MI-11) and Adam Hollier (MI-2) as well as other community lead- ers. Their visit included a guid- ed tour of the museum, a brief session with the local press, and a roundtable discussion on how to create a more tolerant society through education and action. Rep. Lawrence was instru- mental in securing federal funding earlier this year for the center’s state-wide education programs. Appropriations and grants like this one help the Zekelman Holocaust Center increase awareness of and engagement with the community and ensure that it remains a vital source of Holocaust education. Rep. Brenda Lawrence Visits Zekelman Holocaust Center Join The Well for a journey of reflection, introspection and connection leading up to the High Holidays. Each week, The Well will examine a Jewish mystical quality and pose three ques- tions for you to think about during the week: one ques- tion that encourages you to think big and go deep, one about your lifestyle, and one about your community and the people around you. You can use these as journ- aling or meditation prompts and keep your answers pri- vate or create your own posts and share your thoughts. Follow along on The Well’s Facebook and Instagram for a new theme and set of questions each Monday, and some wise words from special guests on Wednesdays and Fridays.
