HANAN
WEIZMAN, of
Asheville, N.C.,
died Aug. 20,
2022.
Hanan lived
a full life filled with zest,
passion, love, kavod (respect
for all) and a commitment to
tikkun olam.
He brought joy and a
smile to all who knew
him. Throughout his life,
he was a man of wisdom,
sharing many lessons with
those in his family and his
community. He revered God,

the State of Israel and, most
of all, his adoring family.
Professionally, he was
the youth director at
Congregation B’nai Moshe
in the 1970s and began as
a successful and impactful
teacher, later switching
careers, becoming a
residential contractor in the
greater Detroit area and later
Orlando, Fla.
He retired in 2003 to
Asheville, N.C., where his
son’s family lives. During
his 19 years in Asheville,
he became an integral part
of both the Congregation
Beth Israel and Chabad of
Asheville communities.
Mr. Weizman was the
beloved husband to Goldie;
father to Elanit (Jorge),

Michael (Della) and Sharone
(Dave); grandfather (saba)
to Adina, Talia and Ethan.
He is remembered fondly by
his brother-in-law, Marvin
Zucker (Cynthia); nephews,
Zack (Eileen) and Gary;
his sister, Simone (Uzi);
and many other nieces and
nephews who live in Israel.
May his memory be for a
blessing, for us all.
He was predeceased by
his dear sister-in-law, Renee
Zucker.
The funeral and shivah
were held in Asheville.
Interment was at Lou Pollock
Memorial Park in West
Asheville. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations can
be made to Congregation
B’nai Moshe (bnaimoshe.
