d Ogel celebrated his
80th birthday on Aug.
22, 2022. His advice is to
stay active, focused and try to
be productive. He is involved
in his business every day. He
is also involved in the Detroit
Fine Arts Breakfast Club, which
meets every Monday at the
Marygrove College campus.
He finds this a wonderful
opportunity to meet talented
artists of the Detroit area.

JAN. 7, 2022
Drs. Elyse and Siddarth Thakur of Charlotte,
N.C., formerly of Oakland County, celebrate
the birth of their third daughter, Sofia Jade.
Proud grandparents are Beth and Robert Sklar
of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Drs. Rajbala and
Shivender Thakur of Pittsford, N.Y. Elated big
sisters are Iyla and Maya. Sofia is named in loving memo-
ry of her maternal great-grandmother Sophie Sklar, her
maternal great-grandfather Sam Landau and her paternal
great-grand-uncle Sh Jagir Singh.

tion in prayer as she
becomes a bat mitzvah at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on Friday, Aug.
26, 2022. She will be
joined in celebration by
her brother Brandon and
sisters Cailey and Mia.
Marni is the loving grand-
child of Susan and Rabbi
Harold Loss, and Dr. Berna
and Noah Levine.
She is a student at
Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. Marni’s
most meaningful mitzvah
project was making cus-
tom camp jewelry to raise
money for the Send a Kid

to Tamarack project that
funds camp scholarships.

West Bloomfield on
Saturday Aug. 27, 2022.
He will be joined in cele-
bration by his sister Paige.
Eli is the loving grandchild
of Shellie and Mike
Anstandig, Sheila and
Marty Kurland, and Mike
Miller.
Eli is a student at
Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. For his
mitzvah project, he volun-
teered and taught sports
to kids at a day camp
through Bloomfield Hills.
