PHYLLIS
BREUER, 93,
passed away
peacefully on Aug.

16, 2022. Formerly from Oak
Park, West Bloomfield and
Commerce Township, Phyllis
last resided at Fox Run in
Novi.
She was born in Brooklyn,
N.Y., on Feb. 17, 1929, and
moved with her family to
Detroit in 1943.
She graduated from Detroit
Central High School and
then Wayne State University
with a degree in social work.
When she married Richard
Herman Breuer in 1950, she
became a dedicated wife and
mother. They had a loving
70-year marriage; and, in
later years, Phyllis worked as
a teacher’s aide and also sold
menswear. After retirement
she volunteered at Henry Ford
Hospital West Bloomfield,

the West Bloomfield Library
and at Channel 56 Public
Television for more than 25
years.
Mrs. Breuer is survived by
her two children: devoted
son, Gerald Breuer (Diane
Cupps); loving daughter,
Nancy (Charles) Orenstein;
two grandchildren, Elizabeth
(Corey) Cohen and Stephanie
Orenstein; two great-
grandchildren, Abigail and
Miles Cohen. She is also
survived by special friend
“almost-a daughter,” Marcia
Garland. The family would
also like to thank Phyllis’s
BrightStar caregivers.
She was pre-deceased by her
parents; her brother, Walter
Herbach; and her husband of
70 years, Richard Breuer.

Thank you Milt, for your years of

dedication to Gesher Human Services,

the Lois Zussman Golf Classic, and the

Lois & Milton Y. Zussman Activity Center.

May your memory forever be a blessing.

In Loving Memory

Milton Zussman
