grandmother, who imparted 
to her progeny the value of 
education, a commitment 
to social justice, a keen 
intellect, loyalty to friends 
and family, and a love of 
Jewish culture, the arts, 
music, gardening and 
language. She was known 
for speaking her mind and 
owning the ground on 
which she stood. 
Anne is survived by 
her loving children, 
Marcia (John) Cipriani 
and Barry (Wendy) Jaffe; 
her grandchildren, Sheri 
(Jacob) Olbrot, Elizabeth 
(Ken) Smoot and Sam 
(Ashlie Reott) Cipriani; 
her great-grandchildren, 
Mayim and Zoe Olbrot, and 
Noa Smoot; many nieces 
and nephews, cousins and 
lifelong friends. 
Mrs. Jaffe was preceded 
in death by her daughter, 
Sheila Jaffe; her husband, 
Eugene Jaffe; and her 
longtime companion, Sam 
Soskin.

SALLY B. 
KOHLENBERG, 
of Huntington 
Woods, passed 
away on July 14, 
2022, after a 
courageous and private 
two-and-a-half-year battle 
with cancer. 
She was a 55-year 
resident of Huntington 
Woods and was head of 
circulation for her beloved 
Huntington Woods Library, 
where she was known to 
everyone as “The Purple 
Lady.” 
Sally was the Employee 
of the Year for the city 
of Huntington Woods 

in 2006 and was given 
a commendation by the 
city of Huntington Woods 
for 40 years of service to 
the library in 2020. Sally 
was also on the planning 
committee and participated 
in every reunion of the 
Mumford High School Class 
of 1955 and had maintained 
friendships that lasted for 
more than 80 years. She was 
also a proud member of the 
Cancer Thrivers Network 
for Jewish Women, who 
counseled many women in 
their cancer battle over the 
years.
Mrs. Kohlenberg was 
the beloved wife for 53 
years of the late Martin 
Kohlenberg; cherished 
mother of Lawrence 
and Wendy Kohlenberg, 
and Julie Kohlenberg-
Tache and Brian Novak; 
proud grandmother of 
Jared Kohlenberg, Liza 
Kohlenberg; and Gemma 
Novak; loving sister of 
Janet and Henry Moses; 
dear sister-in-law of the 
late Norman and the late 
Marian Kohlenberg, the 
late David and the late 
Muriel Kohlenberg, and 
the late Leon Kohlenberg; 
devoted daughter of the 
late Joseph and the late 
Margold Bing. She is also 
survived by nephews and 
nieces, Rabbi Jay and Bat-
Ami Moses, and Margo and 
Adam Miller, and a world of 
loving relatives and friends, 
especially the generations 
of library patrons she was 
thrilled to serve. 
Interment was at 
Beth El Memorial Park.
