DR. EDWARD S. 
HAENICK, 82, of 
West Bloomfield, 
died July 4, 2022, 
surrounded by 
family. 
He was born in 
Youngstown, Ohio, on Jan. 
13, 1940, to Edith and Jack 
Haenick. 
He received his 
undergraduate and dental 
education at the Ohio State 
University and his oral 
surgery residency at the 
University of Michigan. 
Edward served as a captain 
in the Army Dental Corps 
at Fort Sill, Okla. He was a 
past president of the Oakland 
County Dental Society and 
the Detroit Academy of Oral 
Surgeons. Also, he served 
as a docent at the Holocaust 
Memorial Museum for many 
years and was a member of 
Temple Israel, Alpha Omega 
Dental Fraternity. He enjoyed 
golfing at Wabeek Country 
Club and the Grayhawk golf 
courses in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Dr. Haenick is survived by 
his wife of 60 years, Anita 
Miller Haenick; children, 
Michelle Kobernick (Dr. 
Michael), Dr. Michael Haenick 
(Amy) and Martin Haenick 
(Elisabeth); grandchildren, 
Ian Kobernick, Ellie Haenick, 
Evan Haenick, Eli Haenick, 
Benjamin Haenick, Dr. Aaron 
Kobernick (Paige), Jordan 
Kobernick (Lisa) and Eden 
Kobernick Benton (Sean); 
many nieces, nephews, 
cousins, great-grandchildren 
and special friends. He was 
the brother-in-law of Sandy 
Miller and the late Donald 
Miller.

Clover Hill Park Cemetery in
