104, of West 
Bloomfield, died 
June 18, 2022. 
Born in Detroit, 
Fred was the 
beloved husband 
of the late Evelyn 
(Eisman) Rosen for 70 years. 
He spent years in sales, but 
his favorite job was teaching 
music. He played the piano 
daily and composed original 
pieces until this past year. 
Fred is survived by his 
daughter, Sue (Steve) Schafer; 
son, Dr. Roy (Robin) Rosen. 
He was the loving grand-
father of Rachel Schafer 

(Brendan Hill), Abigail 
Schafer (Brandon Galeas), 
Dr. Katie Rosen (Matthew 
Kurzmann), Dr. Karen Rosen 
(Evan Wasserman), Dr. Kelli 
Rosen (Dr. German Treyger) 
and Corey Rosen; adoring 
great-grandfather of Asher 
Hill, Walter Galeas, Brock 
and Gabe Rosen-Kurzmann, 
Nora Wasserman and Sylvie 
Treyger. 
Fred was the dear broth-
er of the late Irving (Jean) 
Rosen; brother-in-law of the 
late Manny (Andrea) Eisman; 
devoted son of the late 
Abraham and Rose (Freeman) 
Rosen; son-in-law of the late 
Sam and Mary (Handelman) 
Eisman. 
Since he was always the 
entrepreneur, contributions to 
honor Fred’s memory may be 
made to Hebrew Free Loan in 
Bloomfield Hills.

She is survived 
by her beloved husband,
