Edelstein’s mom, Tracey, 
says she’s proud to see him 
use his passion to make an 
impact in the community. 
“He combined his love for 
animals and his kindness 
toward others all in one, 
which was a beautiful 
mitzvah that will help so 
many for years to come,” she 
said. 
Edelstein’s bar mitzvah 
will be on Sept. 5 of this 
year. He says even after 
his ceremony, he plans to 
continue his fundraising and 

has a new goal of bringing 
more dogs into the program. 
“So far, the school district 
has five therapy dogs in the 
program. I would like to 
have a dog for each school. 
This way, when people start 
to feel anxious, they don’t 
have to go to another school 
to see a dog but it will be 
available in the building.”
