SHERELL
EDWARD
GORDON, of
Farmington
Hills, passed
away after a
short illness on March 11,
2022.
Born in Detroit on May
27, 1924, Sherell was a life-
long, Metro Detroit resident.
A veteran of WWII, he also
fought in the Israeli War of
Independence in 1948 as a
pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
He was a beloved husband,
father, stepfather, grandfather,
great-grandfather, uncle, cous-
in and friend to all who had
the pleasure of meeting him.
Sherell enjoyed gardening,
travel, golf, photography and
spending time with family.
To quote his wife of 39
years and partner for almost
50, Sherell was an “avid reader,
meager sleeper.
” He was kind,
generous, witty and — like all
lost loved ones — special.
Sherell is survived by his
wife of 39 years, Sondra; sons,
David (Shirley) Gordon,
Robert (Lisa) Gordon; step-
children, Patti Kurche Phillips
and Jeffrey Starr; seven grand-
children; 10 great-grandchil-
dren; and a host of others who
will miss him very much.
By request of the family,
interment will be private.
