recently discovered archi-
val documents, this lecture 
examines amateur Yiddish 
music created during the 
1940s in Nazi-occupied

The Holocaust Memorial 
Center offers a virtual pro-
gram, Pathway to Evil, about 
the infamous Auschwitz 
doctor Josef Mengele, who 
was the embodiment of 
bloodless efficiency and 
passionate devotion to 
a grotesque worldview.

discuss Mengele’s twisted 
career and his escape to
