UDO L. SALK, 
90, of Highland, 
Mich., died 
April 26, 2021.
He was a 
graduate of Cass 
Tech High School, where he 
met Garey; they were blessed 
to share 66 years of marriage. 
As a young man, Udo 
served two years in the Army, 
during the Korean conflict. He 
became an electrical contrac-
tor, starting his own company 
in Detroit, serving the com-
munity for more than half a 
century. 
Udo was an active 
Southfield Rotarian for many 
years. He passed on his love of 
bowling and golf to his sons 
and grandchildren. Family was 
always a priority, providing a 
great sense of joy and satisfac-
tion.
Mr. Salk is survived by 
his wife, Getrude “Garey” 
Salk; sons and daughters-
in-law, Dan and Beth Salk, 
Randy Salk, Curtis Salk, and 
Raymond and Kim Fountain; 
grandchildren, Brendan Salk, 
Madelynn and Mark Knapp, 
Shannon Salk, Kristen and 
Steve Wolf, Angie and Ken 
Majewski, and Lee Fountain; 
great-grandchildren, Chloe 
Radatz, Skylor Majewski, 
Wren Wolf and Shayda Wolf. 
He was the dear father-in-
law of the late Elaine Salk; 
the loving brother of the 
late Shirley and the late Bill 
Sniderman, the late Phillip 
and the late Connie Salk, and 
the late Rose and the late Herb 
Schwidkay; the devoted son of 
the late Abraham and the late 
Tillie Salk. 
Interment was at Hebrew 
Memorial Park. Contributions
