Throughout her life, Dottie’s vision and strength helped build Hadassah in Detroit and in Israel.

In 1916, Dottie’s mother, Sarah Wetsman Davidson, hosted Hadassah founder Henrietta Szold
in Detroit and formed the “Daughters of Zion” group, which became the original
Detroit Chapter of Hadassah. Later, Dottie served as a president of the Detroit Chapter.

Dottie was instrumental in arranging the donation that purchased the Sarah
and Ralph Davidson Hadassah House in West Bloomfield. This building serves as
the office for the Greater Detroit Region, and now, the Hadassah Midwest area.

Since 2012, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower, in memory of Dottie Gerson
and Bill Davidson’s mother, offers a beacon of hope and healing to all who enter.

Hadassah has truly been blessed by Dorothy Davidson Gerson and her family.
May her memory always be for a blessing.
