bout a month ago, Susie
Fenster, a member of Temple
Israel, began a lawn sign
fundraiser to raise money for local
food banks and bring art to the
streets of her West Bloomfield neigh-
borhood.

Therapeutic Arts and Crafts, pur-
chased lawn signs from a company
she orders through for her job.
She went into her neighborhood
Facebook page and asked if anyone
would be interested in purchasing a
sign and received a great response.
Her neighbors simply message
her on Facebook, pay the $10 and
arrange to receive the sign. They
decorate them however they please.
“Some people are having their kids
write and decorate them, and they
turn out so adorable,” Fenster said.
“Some are taking it to the next level
and are doing a real artsy picture.
My family is doing jokes and riddles
on our signs.”
So far, she has dropped off 70
signs and donated $545 to local
food banks. “This initiative is giving
people something to do during this
time. It has been very rewarding for
me but even more significant for the
people who need the help.”
