‘
Best Ever’
 Issue
As an avid reader of the Jewish
News for 65 years, the April
23-29 edition was the best ever.
It tells wonderful, uplifting
stories of the incredible efforts
of the Detroit Jewish com-
munity during these horrific
times. Additionally, the Jewish
Federation and its agencies
and other Jewish partners have
worked tirelessly to help those
in great need. This is not as
true in most other U.S. Jewish
communities.
I am so proud of the
greatest Jewish com-
munity in the Western
Hemisphere. Additionally, we
have superb education students
are receiving at our day schools,
particularly at the Frankel
Jewish Academy.
We need to have the Jewish
News around for another 65
years.

Follow-Up Needed
I am a long-time member of
Beth Israel congregation in
Ann Arbor and a longtime
subscriber to the JN as well.
Thank you for running the
article on the picketers outside
our synagogue (April 23, page
10), but you have let them off

much too lightly by quoting at
length their self-justificatory
claims and by ignoring hard
evidence that these people are
dedicated neo-Nazi supporters
and vicious anti-Semites.
I’
ve researched this group for
many years and was instrumen-
tal in getting them listed on the
Southern Poverty Law Center’
s
national register of hate groups.
I have documentary evidence
on their Nazi connections, their
rabidly conspiratorial view of
Jews, and their connections to
David Duke and other prom-
inent hate group leaders. My
hope is that you will write a
follow-up article exposing these
people for what they are.

Kudos on Cover Story
Absolutely splendid article
by Maya Goldman on “
A
Showdown in Ann Arbor.
” It
really got to the heart of the
matter, the long-standing indif-
ference, or, worse, silent sup-
port, of the city.
This is the type of article
our community needs to see. I
learned a lot.
