father and Ben has four older 
siblings — Eitan, 29, Gidon, 
27, Roni, 25, and Yael, 20.
Ben attended Hillel Day 
School in Farmington Hills 
from sixth through eighth 
grade before going to FJA.
He’
s enjoyed his short time 

at FJA both on the soccer 
pitch and in the classroom, 
where he’
s in honors classes.
Ben is one of five FJA soc-
cer players who were hon-
ored by the Catholic League.
Senior center defensive 
midfielder Will Bloomberg 
and sophomore striker Benji 
Schmeltz made the All-
Catholic team, junior center 
defensive midfielder Ari 
Patrich made the All-League 
team and junior defender 
Daniel Klausner made the 
All-Academic team.
Bloomberg was a captain

After Louis Grodman became the fourth 

University of Michigan football player 

coached by Jim Harbaugh to be accepted 

into the U-M medical school, Harbaugh had 

some advice for Grodman:

“If Louis is smart, he’
ll accept that quick-

ly,” Harbaugh told The Wolverine last month. 

“We’
re very proud of him. We’
ve been calling 

him Dr. Grodman for a few years. His dad 

(Robert) also is a doctor.”

Louis hasn’
t made his medical school decision yet.

“He’
s undecided and weighing his options,” said Lisa Grodman, his 

mother.

Louis is a fifth-year senior defensive back and special teams player for 

the Wolverines. He graduated from U-M this month.

The Commerce Township resident was a football player and golfer at 

Walled Lake Northern High School.
