OCTOBER 3 • 2019 | 51 M ary Liz Curtin, co-owner of Leon & Lulu, and Michigan restaurateur Matt Prentice opened their upscale dining and retail concept last month at 116 W . 14 Mile Road in Clawson. Always on one another’ s radar, Curtin and Prentice met last year. By the end of their initial conversation, the pair agreed to bring the people of Detroit a retail and restau- rant concept like no other. “I have admired Matt’ s food and knack for service for many years, ” said Curtin. “I cannot imagine starting a restaurant with anyone else. Three Cats will make Leon & Lulu a complete destination where guests can enjoy fine meals as well as great shop- ping. ” Three Cats’ American small plates menu, with an emphasis on Michigan’ s bounty, will be served among the high-end furniture and gifts Leon & Lulu is known to offer. “I’ m so excited to be back in the kitchen doing what I love, ” said Prentice. “I’ ve created a seasonally inspired menu with items you won’ t find anywhere else, served in an atmosphere unlike any other restaurant. ” The introductory menu features light- er fare using rare ingredients such as Michigan Wild Chinook salmon and locally foraged Pawpaw fruit. Small plates include fish, poultry, pork, beef, and vegetarian and vegan options. Three Cats has a full bar stocked with Michigan craft beer, American wines and spirits with a special emphasis on Detroit and Ferndale dis- tilleries. Hours are Monday- Thursday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. For more information, visit three- catsrestaurant.com.
