and Micah Herman
of Deerfield, Ill., are
thrilled to announce
the birth of their
daughter, Laila
Maarit (Laila Miriam). Laila is the
treasured sister of Maya Jordyn,
Avery Phae and the late Aviva Pearl.
Overjoyed grandparents are Merle
and Ron Schwartz of Farmington
Hills, and Chicago and Joyce
Herman of Orchard Lake. Laila
Maarit is named in memory of her
beloved elter bubbie May Schwartz,
her adored great-grandmother
Fanny Herman and her cherished
elter bubbie Sandra Sherman.

Madison Shayna
Broad of Bloomfield
Hills will be called to
the Torah as a bat
mitzvah on Monday,
Aug. 19, 2019, at the
Western Wall in
Jerusalem. She is a member of
Temple Shir Shalom in West
Bloomfield. Madison will be joined
in the celebration by her proud
parents, Ashley and Jordan Broad,
and brother Evan. She is the
granddaughter of Barbara and Jerry
Broad, and Lili and Les Gold.
Madison is in seventh grade
at West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills. For her mitzvah
project, she secured donations for
the Ernst Cardiovascular Center at
Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak
to fund programs for the diagnosis,
treatment and care of people with
heart and vascular disease and to
advance high-quality healthcare for
the benefit of all members of the
communities it serves.

Julianne Claire Rapp
will become a bat
mitzvah on Saturday,
Aug. 17, 2019, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. She
is the daughter of Dr.
Stanford and Geula Rapp, the sister
of Nicole Rapp and the grand-

daughter of the late Samuel Tron,
the late Doris Barahal Tron, the late
Dr. Seymour Rapp and the late
Dorothy Rapp.
Julianne is a seventh-grade
student at Bloomfield Hills Middle
School. For her mitzvah project,
she volunteered at the Friendship
Circle in West Bloomfield this
summer and plans to continue her
volunteer work throughout the
coming school year.

Nicole Jordan Rapp
will become a bat
mitzvah on Saturday,
Aug. 17, 2019, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. She
is the daughter of Dr.
Stanford and Geula Rapp, the sister
of Julianne Rapp and the grand-
daughter of the late Samuel Tron,
the late Doris Barahal Tron, the late
Dr. Seymour Rapp and the late
Dorothy Rapp.
Nicole is an eighth-grade student
at Bloomfield Hills Middle School.
For her primary mitzvah project,
she collaborated on a book drive
as part of her Me to We academic
extension class. The books were
donated to Coleman A. Young
Elementary and Humble Design.
