Advocating for Older Adults

It was almost 5pm and Sarah still 
didn’t know what she was going to do. 
She needed to get to her daughter’s 
soccer game as she had missed the 
last one to take her father to a doctor’s 
appointment; but she also needed to get 
to the pharmacy before it closed to pick 
up her mother’s prescription.

There are thousands of Sarahs right here 
in our community, struggling to care 
for aging parents while balancing other 
responsibilities. The good news is that a 
geriatric care manager can help.

Geriatric care managers are trained 
professionals who assess and meet the 
needs of older adults, both those living 

in their own homes as well as those in 
senior communities. After conducting 
a thorough evaluation, care managers 
identify next steps that can help bring 
stability to an older adult in decline, and 
peace of mind to their family.
