Fun fact: Many of the people behind the scenes at Motown were Jewish, including Nat Tarnopol, man- ager of Motown legend Jackie Wilson, who many believe converted to Judaism. In a 2003 JN story, Motown’ s first PR manager Alan Abrams said Wilson could talk to his mother in Yiddish. So could Barry Gordy, Abrams said. “Their association with Jewish people rubbed off on them.” CHRIS BUTCHER, WIKIPEDIA APRIL 21
