MELVIN SHAW, 82, of
Birmingham, died Dec.
14, 2018.
He was proud of
having been born in
Brooklyn, N.Y. He was
a renowned physicist,
caring psychologist, bon vivant, gour-
mand, lover of Yiddish humor and
music. A passionate humanitarian, he
loved life and will be lovingly remem-
bered.
Mr. Shaw is survived by his children,
Adam Shaw, Evan Shaw and Lianne
Paskel; grandchildren, Briahna Shaw,
Dustin Shaw, Avarose Shaw and Jesse
Shaw, Jackson and Harrison Shaw;
sister, Carolyn Jacoby. He was the lov-
ing partner for more than six years of
Marcia Klein.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Bernetta “Bunny” Miller Shaw; the
dear brother-in-law of the late John
Jacoby. He was predeceased by his for-
mer wife and mother of his children,
Carol Shaw.
