He is in seventh grade at Derby Middle School in Birmingham. Max has participated in Friendship Circle’s Walk for Friendship for the past two years and enjoys helping children with special needs. As part of her mitzvah project, she volunteered at Yad Ezra in Berkley and National Council of Jewish Women in Southfield. She found these hands-on experiences very rewarding. Drew is a student at Norup International Middle School in Oak Park. He performed several mitz- vah projects, but he found it most meaningful to volunteer through PeerCorps Detroit for Project Healthy Community at Schulze Elementary School in Detroit, where he assisted K-2 students with homework and enrichment activi- ties. Coincidentally, Drew’s grand- father attended Schulze as a student more than 65 years earlier! Harrison Lewis Lumberg, son of Amy and Adam Lumberg and brother of Preston, will be called to the bimah for his bar mitz- vah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018. He is the loving grandchild of Pam and Gene Lumberg, and the late Vivian and Heinz Seiferheld, and great-grandchild of the late Helen and Dr. Phillip Sherman, and the late Marian and Howard Guttman. Harrison is a student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. For his most meaningful mitzvah project, he took part in the LUNGevity Walk – Breath Deep Event. He participated in this special event in memory of his grandmother Vivian and to raise funds for lung cancer research and awareness. The couple own and operate the Detroit Cookie Company on Woodward in Ferndale. Peck-Landau D r. Rochelle Peck and Mr. Joel Peck of New York City are thrilled to announce the engagement of their daughter Margot Elise to Ryan Keil Landau, son of Mark and Debbie Landau of West Bloomfield. Margot earned her M.B.A. at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, and works at McCann Detroit, an advertising agency in Birmingham. Ryan, a graduate of Michigan State University, runs his own business, re:pur- pose, which connects talented individuals with innovative startups across Michigan.
