STEVEN M.
BEERBOHM, 70, of
West Bloomfield, passed
peacefully on the evening
of Oct. 26, 2018, with the
loves of his life at his side:
his faithful and loving
partner of 22 years, his dearest Suzie
Canyock; and his loving daughter,
Palmer Beerbohm.
Mr. Beerbohm is also survived by
his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Goldberg;
niece, Jennifer (Ben) Werbling; nephew,
Dr. Jared Goldberg (Amy Muscovitz);
his former spouse, Kathleen (Larry
Weis) McCarroll, M.D.; Suzie’s parents,
Lawrence and Betty Canyock; and
siblings, Charles (Tammy), Paul and
Lauren Canyock; many other loving
family members and friends.
He was the loving son of the late
Alexander and the late Gertrude
Beerbohm; brother of the late Norman
Beerbohm and the late Sherry
Goldberg.
As big brother to Norman and
younger brother to Sherry, Steven
found himself to be the often joked
about middle child. He was, at heart, a
people-person, keenly aware of different
perspectives. He worked diligently to
bring people together and often found
himself fulfilling/playing the role of
diplomat in all his interactions.
A tireless organizer, strategic thinker
and highly disciplined leader, Steven
excelled in the health care industry,
managing a vast array of facilities, rang-
ing from large hospital systems to small
private medical facilities and patient
care services.
Volunteering his time and talents,
Steven sat as a board member for sev-
eral nonprofits over the years, focusing
his efforts on bringing medical services,
much needed medications and care
to children inside and outside of the
United States.
Steven approached his day-to-day life
with the same dedication, commitment
and attention to detail that drove his
professional and philanthropic pursuits.
There was a plan for every day. He liked
to wake up every day at 3 a.m. and be
at the gym no later than 3:45. His work
day started at 8 a.m. with his daily
papers; he never cared to read the news
on the Internet. He kept himself current
reading the Wall Street Journal and the
New York Times; he wanted to know
what was happening in the financial
markets and the latest news events in
our world.
