NETTIE SICER
ADELSBERG, 93, of
West Bloomfield, died
peacefully on Nov. 3,
2018.
Surviving the
German camps with
grit and determination, and not
speaking any English, she came
to the U.S., together with her
husband, Morris, and daughter,
Freda, in 1949.
They started a new life together,
first, in Philadelphia, Pa., where
her son, David, was born, and,
then, in Vineland, N.J. The family
moved to Oak Park in 1963. “Love
and family” was the motto she lived
by.
Mrs. Adelsberg is survived by her
daughter, Freda (Benjamin) Gill;
son, David (Phyllis) Adelsberg;
grandchildren, Danielle (Eric)
Gottsagen, Steven (Danielle) Gill,
Joel Adelsberg and Evan Adelsberg;
great-grandchildren, Noah and
Sofia Gottsagen, and Jack and
Bethany Chava Gill.
She was predeceased by her
beloved husband of 49 years,
Morris Adelsberg. Nettie was the
daughter of Shoah victim Freydele
Raichman Sicerl and sister of
Shoah victim Shmuel Sicer.
Graveside services were arranged
by Hebrew Memorial Chapel.
Contributions may be made
to Magen David Adom or the
Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills.

DANIEL
ARNOLD, 94, of West
Bloomfield, died Nov.
7, 2018.
He is survived by
his beloved wife, Emily
Arnold; daughters
and sons-in-law, Susan and Robert
Sunquest, Beth and David Kirschner;
son and daughter-in-law, Stuart
and Reena Arnold; grandchildren,
Julie (Robert) Byers, Craig (Megan)
Arnold, Eric (Jenna) Arnold,
Samantha (Bradley) Hurewitz, Scott
Kirschner, Skip (Alice) Arnold, Brent
and Lexi Arnold, Sandy and Joe
Hayes; great-grandchildren, Danielle,
Jaxon, Chase, Jordyn, Rudy (Taylor)
and Margaret. He is also survived by
many loving nieces, nephews, other
family members and friends.
Mr. Arnold was the loving father
of the late Dennis Arnold.

Interment took place at Beth
El Memorial Park Cemetery in
Livonia. Contributions may
be made to the Choir Fund at
Temple Israel or a charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

LEONORE M. BASS,
88, of Clarkston,
passed away at home
on Oct. 27, 2018.
Leonore owned and
operated Lee’s Fashion
Jewelry/Dixie Bargain
Mart in Waterford for 69 years.
She enjoyed the theater, dancing,
traveling and was known as “the
dancing queen” and “the mother of
Bedrock Express.”
Mrs. Bass was the mother of
Randee (Steven) Schneider, Loren
(Nancy Eubanks) Bass, Barry
(Danita) Bass, Linda Bass and
Adrienne (Troy Cubero) Bass;
grandma of Cory, Aron, Emma,
Halley, Olivia, Madelyn, Austin and
Gillian.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, George.
Services were held at the Lewis
E. Wint and Son Funeral Home
in Clarkston. Contributions may
be made to Leonore Bass Senior
Activity Memorial Fund, c/o Bedrock
Express, 4974 Dixie Hwy., Waterford,

GERALD CURTIS,
88, of Richmond,
Mich., died Nov. 5,
2018.
He is survived by
his daughter, Susan
Crawford; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Harold and
Janice Katzman; grandchildren,
Carrie (JJ) James, Aaron Crawford;
great-grandchildren, Daniel and
Sydney; nieces, Dr. Lori (Bill
Shulman) Katzman, Linda (Dr. Alan)
Spigelman, Ellen (Lee) Michaels.
He is also survived by many loving
great-nieces, great-nephews, other
family members and friends.
Interment took place at
the Machpelah Cemetery in
Ferndale. Contributions may be
made to the Shriners Hospital
for Children or a charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.
