CLARA WEIS
ROBINS, 97, of
Farmington Hills,
passed away
peacefully on July
30, 2018, sur-
rounded by her
loving family.
Robins
She was
born in
Czechoslovakia
near the bor-
der of Hungary.
Raised in an
Orthodox Jewish
home, she made
a commit-
ment to Judaism that continued
throughout her life. She was a
brilliant woman, fluent in six lan-
guages. She completed college to
become a teacher, and she took
a lot of pride in having gradu-
ated with straight As. Tragically,
her dreams of teaching were
interrupted. She was taken to
Auschwitz concentration camp
at age 21. Though she lost nearly
her entire family, she was able
to rebuild her life because of her
unstoppable will to survive and
overcome. She was a remarkable
woman, whose love of learning,
teaching and caring for others was
obvious to all who knew her.
Her greatest pleasure was
spending time with her family. She
will be fondly remembered for her
kindness and devotion to her fam-
ily and friends.
Mrs. Weis-Robins was the
beloved wife of Steve Weis and,
later, the beloved wife of Theodore
Robins; the cherished mother
of Marion (Paul) Rubin; loving
grandmother of Lisa (Sandor)
Terner and Steve (Dana) Rubin;
adoring great-grandmother of
Danny and Derek Terner, and
Brody Rubin; loving aunt of Paul
Korda and Kathy Bank.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and several broth-
ers and sisters as a result of the
Holocaust; she was also preceded
in death by the one brother who
had survived the Holocaust, Alex
(Magda) Korda.
Interment was at Hebrew
Memorial Park Cemetery.
