Virtual Tour Of
Ancient Holy Temple

Jews still converge upon the Western
Wall, the surviving remnant of the
Holy Temple in Jerusalem, 2,000 years
later. However, while many have
explored the politics and geography of
Israel and the Temple Mount, few have
explored the spiritual significance
of the structures that stood on that
mount for a millennium.
This summer, Chabad Jewish
Center of Bloomfield Hills will be
offering “Heaven on Earth,” a three-
week interactive course developed
by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute
that recreates the ancient Temple
from the ground up.
“Many people wonder why the
Western Wall is so important to
Jewish people, why it is so close to our
hearts,” says Rabbi Levi Dubov, direc-
tor of the Chabad and instructor of
the course. “This course will offer the
opportunity to look past the history
and politics and see the magnificent
structure that once was. By helping

the participants envision and recreate
the ancient Jewish Temple, they will
come away with a newfound apprecia-
tion to for its historical significance.”
To aid students in conceptualizing
the ancient Temple, the class employs
an interactive and innovative vir-
tual tour that will allow students, for
the first time, to “walk through” the
Temple’s ancient corridors, throng
with the crowds through Jerusalem’s
gates, and discover the marvels of
architecture and design that were
integral to this sacred site.
“Heaven on Earth” will be offered
locally at the Chabad Jewish Center
of Bloomfield Hills from 7:30-9 p.m.
on three Wednesdays, starting July 11.
The fee is $36; there is a special dis-
count for couples of $54.
