SAMUEL SOLOMON
WEINER passed away
on April 26, 2018, two
days after celebrating
his 99th birthday.
He was an avid golfer
who had six holes-in-

Mr. Weiner is sur-
vived by his sons and daughters-in-
law, Frederick and Susan Weiner of
West Bloomfield, and Dr. Edward and
Marsha Weiner of Great Barrington.
Mass.; his loving grandchildren, Dr.
Matthew Weiner (Loren) and Courtney
Yanni (Frederick). He was the beloved

RUTH WEINTRAUB,
former Detroiter of Tel
Aviv, Israel, died April
29, 2018.
Born and raised in
Tel Aviv, Ruth came to
Detroit on a teacher
exchange program in
Weintraub
1959. She met Harry
Weintraub at the JCC
swimming pool and they wed soon
thereafter. She taught over the years at
Hillel Day School and United Hebrew
Schools. She had two children, Lena and
Don, and was a daily fixture at the JCC
pool and gym.
Her love of Israel led her back to Tel
Aviv in 1995, where she was an active
member of the Beit Daniel Center for
Progressive Judaism. Ruth was an avid
reader of Israeli and American literature
and liked meeting up with her friends
to discuss current events at local cafés.
She was a fitness fanatic and a pioneer
in vegetarianism and alternative medi-
cine, with a passion for life and her own
way of doing things as evidenced by the
decision to donate her body to science
for the benefit of future generations.
Mrs. Weintraub is survived by her
two children, Lena W. Mintz of Delray
Beach, Fla., (husband, Neil, and son,
Logan), and Don Weintraub of Tel Aviv
(wife, Meirav, and daughter, Meidon).
She was the wife of the late Harry
Weintraub.
ROSE WOLOK, 94, of
West Bloomfield, died
May 6, 2018.
She is survived by

Wolok, Dr. Howard
Wallace; sister, Eleanor Dorfman; grand-

Wolok, Brad Dizik and Jordan Dizik.
Mrs. Wolok was the beloved wife of the
late Morris Wolok; the sister of the late
Lillian (late Samuel) Hechtman, the late
Sid (the late Ann) Lieberman, the late Al
(the late Sally) Lieberman, the late Irving
(the late Tillie) Lieberman and the late
Nathan (the late Betty) Lieberman.
Interment was held at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.
