Joining in her celebration will be her proud parents, Jodi and Jason Anstandig, and siblings Jordan and Jonah. Jessica is the loving grand- child of Jackie and the late Alfred Lipshaw, and Donna and Burton Hurshe. Jessica is a student at Clifford H. Smart Middle School in Commerce Township. Among her many mitzvah projects, she found it most reward- ing to help other kids through her volunteer work with Amy’s Kids. Lillian Rose Harwin (Shoshana Riva), daughter of Elisa Zabel and Marc Harwin, will become a bat mitzvah Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Congregation Harwin Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield. She will be joined in celebration by her sister Ruby, grandparents Rochelle and Jerry Zabel, and Larry Harwin. She is also the granddaughter of the late Maxine Harwin. Lillian attends Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. For her most meaningful mitzvah project, she raised funds and awareness for the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition in memory of her grandmother. Maxwell Chase Barish, son of Jennifer and Ryan Barish, will lead the congrega- tion in prayer as he becomes a bar mitzvah at Temple Israel in Barish West Bloomfield on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He will be joined in celebration by brother Blake and proud grandparents Rhona and Allan Anchill, and Rita and Sidney Barish. Max is a student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills. As part of his mitzvah project, he took part in the Jewish Family Service Because We Care program, allowing him to engage in service work with his peers. He found it very meaningful to see how JFS helps the community. As part of his mitzvah project, he volun- teered on Sunday afternoons for the sports classes at the Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield, which he found to be very meaningful. Proud parents, Bernson Stacey and Joseph Bernson, along with brother Logan Bernson will be in attendance. Sammy is the grandson of Harvey Goodman and the late Marlene Goodman, Charlotte Bernson, and Alan and Linda Bernson. For his bar mitzvah project, Sammy visited and fundraised for a homeless shelter.
