he Michigan Jewish Sports
Foundation is once again
presenting a night of sports
talk to raise funds for the Dr.
Steve and Evelyn Rosen Stars of
Tomorrow Scholarship fund.
Detroit Lions General Manager
Bob Quinn, fresh off his work
helping the Lions make their
choices in the NFL Draft, and
agent Kevin Poston, who repre-
sents several NFL players, will
be the feature attractions at
the second annual “Beyond the
Game: A Night of Sports Talk” at
6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the
Birmingham Athletic Club.
The evening’s host is sports
broadcaster Mike “Stoney” Stone.
Sari Cicurel, the foundation’s
executive director, said the sports
talk night will have a theme each
year and it usually will be held in
April.
“We needed to hold it in May
this year to accommodate Bob
Quinn’s schedule,” she said.
Tickets include dinner and the
sports discussion. Prices are $45

for persons under age 21, $75 for
persons ages 21-40 and $100 for
everyone else. Sponsorships are
$1,000.
Cicurel said one of her goals as
the foundation’s new executive
director is attracting younger audi-
ences to foundation events, so she
instituted the tiered pricing for the
sports talk night.
“Perhaps this year’s night will
be an educational experience for a
young person who is interested in
pursuing a career in sports man-
agement,” she said.
Stars of Tomorrow scholar-
ships are awarded to Jewish high
school seniors who have excelled
in athletics and academics. Other
criteria include financial need,
community service and additional
extra-curricular activities.

board of directors of the Dr. Gary
Burnstein Community Health
Clinic in Pontiac, will receive
the Barry Bremen Memorial
