Durecki recently retired after 12 years as director of Durecki the Rabbi Leo M. Franklin Archives at the temple. Durecki began her tenure at the archives knowing almost noth- ing of the Beth El story, says Suzi MacWilliams, a volunteer at the Franklin archives. “Together we would excitedly find a clue and have fun connecting the Temple Beth Sholom Rabbi Samuel Stahl of San Antonio, son-in-law of the synagogue’s co- founders Willard and Lois Cohodas.
