nephews.
Mr. Singer was the devoted son
of the late Jack and the late Minnie
Singer; the loving brother of the late
Edward and the late Ceil Singer, and
the late Kenneth and the late Marvel
Singer.

Interment was at Clover Hill Park

ARNOLD A.
TANZMAN, 94, of
Farmington Hills, died
April 14, 2018.
He served as an
engineering officer
in the Navy during
World War II from
Tanzman
July 1943 to July 1946
on LST 1096 and
1078. He attended
Officer Candidate
School at Columbia University and
Diesel Engineering School at Cornell
University. He was honorably dis-
charged from the Naval Reserve in
1954.
Mr. Tanzman earned his bachelor’s
degree in mechanical engineer-
ing from the Illinois Institute of

Technology in June of 1947. He worked
in plant engineering at the Ford Motor
Company and General Electric and
retired from Security Bank and Trust
as manager of mechanical mainte-
nance and security officer. He was
honored as a registered professional
engineer, and he was a member of
the Michigan Society of Professional
Engineers as of 1966.
As a resident of Oak Park, he
made a significant and meaningful
contribution to the welfare of the
city of Oak Park by serving on the
Planning Commission, the Building
Board of Appeals and the Economic
Development Corporation.
Mr. Tanzman is survived by his wife
of 66 years, Marcia Tanzman; children,
Jay Tanzman and his partner, Anna
Krylov, and Carol and Michael Kuppe;
grandchildren, Joseph, Madison and
Carly Kuppe; sister and brother-in-
law, Dr. Elaine and Paul Russman;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law,
Nancy and Martin Meyers; nieces and
nephews, Steven Russman, Laurie
and Ricardo Borisonik, Matthew

and Lisa Russman, Dr. Andrew and
Alicia Russman, Pamela and Dexter
Chambers, Sandy and Bruce Levison,
Carl Myers, and Bruce and Lisa Myers;
many loving great-nieces and great-
nephews.
He was the devoted son of the late
Joseph and the late Anna Tanzman;
the dear son-in-law of the late Lillian
and the late Abraham Margulies;
the loving brother of the late Burton
Tanzman; the loving uncle of the late
Rochelle Russman.
Interment was at Adat Shalom

Clara Weisberg Concerts, Beaumont Hospital’s Henrietta & Alvin Weisberg Center for
Acute Care of the Elderly, the Holocaust Memorial Center’s Weisberg Gallery and JHCN’s
annual Caring Coalition Conference.
