Rethinking Everything We Know about Our Universe” — a new six- session course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI). Drawing on the wisdom of Jewish mysticism and Chasidic teaching, the most basic building blocks of existence are re-examined from the bottom up, revolutionizing our understanding of life, reality and our place in the world. “I find that many people I interact with locally are looking to deepen their experience of life,” Dubov says. “This JLI course invites participants to live more deeply by deepening their thinking, insight and aware- ness of the fundamentals of life and of our universe.” “What Is?” explores six of the most intriguing questions that have ever challenged mankind: Is the world real? Is time travel possible? Why does evil exist? Who is God? What is consciousness? Are we bound by fate? The six-week course will be offered on Monday evenings, begin- ning April 23, at Bloomfield Hills High School, and on Wednesday mornings, beginning April 25, at Jewish Family Service in West Bloomfield. The course is designed to appeal to people at all levels of knowledge, including those without any prior experience in Jewish learning. Interested students may call (248) 949-6210, email info@bloomfield- hillschabad.org or visit bloomfieldhillschabad.org for regis- tration and for other course-related information. The course is also being taught by Rabbi Shneur Silberberg and will be offered twice weekly, for six Sundays, beginning April 22, 11 a.m. at Bais Chabad of West Bloomfield and six Thursdays, beginning April 26 at the Jewish Federtion of Metro Detroit. Cost for the course is $80 (includes textbook). Scholarships are available. For more information contact Rabbi Shneur Silberberg at rabbishneur@baischabad.com or visit BaisChabad.com/JLI•
