raft beer from Ann Arbor Brewing Co. Food trucks and other
fantastic edible treats. Crowd-pleasing live bands. And — 75
jury-selected artists, both local and national, featuring their
wares of ceramics, painting, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry, glass, photog-
raphy and much more, all under one roof.
The second-annual Royal Oak Market: Spring Art Fair, located indoors
(it’s still Michigan, after all) within the Royal Oak Farmers Market April
5-6, marks the official start of Michigan’s art fair season — and with it,
the joy of walking around, interacting with artists and opportunities for
custom creations.
“Art fairs offer the opportunity to see as much work as possible in a
short amount of time,” says Karen Delhey, executive director of the Guild
of Artists & Artisans, one of the largest membership organizations of
professional artists in North America, and host of the fair. “The Royal
Oak Market: Spring Fair is unlike any other art fair in the region. This
event is more intimate, providing a boutique experience with a select
number of juried fine artists in a fun urban environment.” •
