SHAMIE, 92,
passed away Feb.
20, 2018, surround-
ed by her family.
Daughter of Albert
and Florence Lelah,
Mrs. Shamie was
born on Jan. 31,
1926, in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia,
one of nine broth-

ers and sisters.
While working for the British
government during World War II
in Calcutta, India, Mrs. Shamie met
her future husband, Jack Shamie of
Brooklyn, N.Y. Jack was stationed in
Calcutta during World War II with
the U.S. Army Intelligence Division.
In 1946, Mrs. Shamie immigrated to
the United States and married Jack.
Terry sacrificed and devoted her
entire life to her three children. She

Cemetery on Staten Island, N.Y.
