Written as a follow-up to Lorraine Hansberry’s A
Raisin in the Sun (1959), Clybourne Park was written
in 2010 by Bruce Norris, based loosely on historical
events that took place in the city of Chicago in 1959.
Both funny and thought-provoking, the play, which won
a Pulitzer and a Tony, is now being brought to the stage
by St. Dunstan’s Theatre in Bloomfield Hills. Directed
by Alan Ellias with set designed by Ross Grossman,
the play’s Feb. 25 matinee will feature a talk-back with
Doug K. McCray, educator from the Charles H. Wright
Museum of African American History. $18-$20.
