Dr. Aparna Joshi, defined the life of
Dr. Slovis this way. “He inspired and
encouraged all those who worked
around him, including technologists,
nurses, students, residents, fellows and
radiologist peers, to strive for excellence
and constantly improve.”
Dr. Slovis is survived by his wife of
53 years, Ellie Slovis; children, Michael
and Kellie Slovis, Debbie and Michael
Berger, Max Slovis, and Lisa and David
Mandel; grandchildren, Ryan Slovis,
Kyle Slovis, Andrew Slovis, Charlie
Slovis, Samantha Berger, Jeremy Berger,

Alan was the brother-in-law of the
late Avery Warnick; the partner of the
late Susan Matlin.

NORMAN S.
WAULDRON, 100, of
Southfield, died Feb. 5,
2018.
After 44 years
with the Michigan
Department of
Treasury, Norman
Wauldron
retired in 1982 as
district manager of the Southeastern
Region and was responsible for auditing
and the collection of most state taxes
in Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and
Monroe Counties.
Norman was a U.S. Army World War
II veteran and served as a first ser-
geant in the South Pacific. He was in
two battles in the Northern Solomon
Islands and another in the Philippines
as part of Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s
Task Force in regaining the Philippines
from the Japanese. He was a member
of Lieutenant Raymond Zussman Post
135 Jewish War Veterans of the United
States.
He is survived by his beloved wife
of 70 years, Belle Wauldron; devoted
daughters and son-in-law, Barbara
Wauldron, Susan Wauldron Jerris and
Bruce Jerris; brother and sister-in-law,
Ross and Lois Wauldron; Bruce’s chil-
dren; Alison (Rabbi Adam) Chalom,
Michael (Gwendolyn) Jerris and their
children: Maya, Jonah and Evangeline.
He is also survived by many loving
nieces, nephews, other family members
and friends.
Norman was the son of the late Albert
and Bessie Wauldron; brother of the late
Milton (the late Mary) Wauldron, the
late Arthur (the late Joan) Wauldron.
Interment took place at the
Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale.
