LILLIAN MEISNER, 93, of Southfield, died Feb. 3, 2018. She was a first- generation American, devoted wife of Irving Meisner, mother of six, grandmother of 11, art Meisner docent, business entre- preneur and friend to almost anyone she met. Born to Morris and Sarah Shreeman and raised in the Dexter and Davison area of Detroit, she was a graduate of Central High School and attended Wayne State University. She and her husband raised their family in the Green Acres neighborhood in Detroit and later in Southfield. With her eclectic group of friends and love of extended family, she never stopped growing as a person. She started the Lilly M Company, an estate sales com- pany, in her early 50s and ran the busi- ness well into her 80s. As she was run- ning her business, she also took classes to become a docent at the Detroit Institute of Arts; she also led the fund- raising efforts for the Sholem Aleichem Art Show for many years. Her positive force, love for parties, infectious laugh, tenacious spirit, family orientation and driven style will stay in the family’s hearts forever Mrs. Meisner was the beloved wife for 73 years of Irving Meisner; devoted mother of David (Pamela) Meisner, Rebecca (Bob Beskangy) Meisner, Deborah (Leonard) Weiss, Matthew (Madi) Meisner, Joseph (Gerry) Meisner and Benjamin (Risa) Meisner; loving grandmother of Meryl Meisner ( fiance, Hector Chen), Harry, Louie, Nathan, Herbert, Ivan Meisner, Mayer (Leah) Stein, Matthew (Tiffany Esshaki), Mason, Zachary Meisner (Jesse Fetbroth), Sonia Meisner and Andrew Meisner; cherished sister of Edith (late Jack) Kaplan, the late Samuel Shreeman and the late Louis Shreeman; dear sis- ter-in-law of Ruby “Lois” Kahn, the late Rona (the late Seymour) Summer and the late Aubrey (late Millie) Meisner. JOHN MUCASEY, 91, former Detroiter of Sarasota, Fla., died Jan. 23, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Dr. Brenda Yanofsky; adored father and grandfather of Amy Mucasey and Stuart Brozgold, Janet and Mike Harris, Paula Mucasey and Robert Weiffenbach, Michael (Michelle Swanic) Zavier, Jaime Zavier and Ethan Zavier, Jessica and Joell Reyes, and Haley Jacobson. He is also survived by his brother, Leon Mucasey; and adoring nieces and nephews. CAROL J. SHAW, 79, of West Bloomfield, died Jan. 28, 2018. Carol was a generous and selfless mother and grandmother.
