Megan Topper,
34, of West
Bloomfield
is associate
director,
Philanthropic
Advancement
& NEXTGen
Detroit at the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Previously, Megan worked in
Jewish education at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek for seven years.
There, she built a family education
program designed to deepen par-
ents’ engagement in their children’s
Jewish learning experience.
A graduate of Michigan State
University and Walsh College, where
she earned her M.B.A., Megan has a
passion for learning and profession-
al growth. She enjoys utilizing her
background and skills to propel her
in her efforts of positively impacting
the community.
Megan is dedicated to the mission
of meeting the needs of the Jewish
people and building a vibrant
Jewish future in Detroit, Israel and
around the world. She spends her
days collaborating with dedicated
volunteers to engage members of
the community and raise funds that
provide a safety net of services to so
many. Outside of work, Megan loves
being with her family — her hus-
band, Aubrey, and daughter, Aviva
Rose. Together they enjoy going on
adventures to see hidden gems in
the Metro Detroit area, including
any activity that is outdoors, and
spending time with their extended
family.
YONI TORGOW
Yoni Torgow, 36,
of Oak Park is
president of the
Sterling Group,
a Michigan-
based real estate
development,
management and
investment com-
pany, headquartered in Downtown
Detroit. Among Yoni’s many duties
at the company, he directs Star
Entertainment Ventures, creators of
StarShow Xperience.
Yoni is a Wexner fellow, is chairing
the Yeshiva Beth Yehudah building
campaign for the institution’s new
state-of-the-art boys’ school facility
and was instrumental in the creation
of the Detroit Jewish Youth Softball
League.
Yoni and his wife, Rachel, are pas-
sionate advocates for Jewish unity
and Jewish education and are the
proud parents of six wonderful chil-
dren.
DR. BROOKE
WEINGARDEN
Board-certified
by the American
Board of
Psychiatry and
Neurology, Brooke
Weingarden,
35, earned her
medical degree
from Touro College of Osteopathic
Medicine and Surgery in Vallejo, Calif.,
and completed her residency at Henry
Ford Hospital and fellowship at Wayne
State University. She also has a master’s
degree in public health from Nova
Southeastern University in Davie, Fla.
Her areas of specialization include
psychiatric evaluations and manage-
ment of children and adolescents. This
includes early childhood evaluations,
disruptive behavior disorders, mood
disorders, anxiety, thought disorders
and ADHD.
She also works as an Oakland County
school consultant, works once a month
at a boys’ residential facility in Detroit
and does some consulting work at a
foster care home. She has lectured at
a few psychiatry conferences and is
active on the board at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek and with Jewish
Federation NEXTGen events.
LOWELL WEISS
Lowell Weiss, 35,
of West Bloomfield
is a Certified
Financial Planner
professional and
first vice president,
investments, at
Weiss Wealth
Management of
Raymond James & Associates in the
Farmington Hills office.
He works with clients, young and old,
to create financial plans and invest-
ment portfolios that are custom crafted
to individual needs. He uses his back-
ground as an attorney and financial
planner to help navigate many of life’s
ups and downs for clients. His primary
focus is the one-on-one relationship
between client and adviser.
The Metro Detroit Jewish community
has been an important part of Lowell’s
life going back to his BBYO roots —
and was the primary reason why he
returned to the area after attending
Ohio State University and Michigan
State College of Law.
With his wife, Colleen, he hopes to
instill an appreciation and love for
the community in his two children:
Benjamin and Rebecca.
Among his community involvements,
Lowell is a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish
as a member of Team Alex, an execu-
tive member of the B’nai B’rith Youth
Organization, Michigan Region Board
of Commissioners and a member of
The Well’s Bucket List. •
