on Jan. 25.
This patriarch of the fam-
ily: a father, grandfather, great-
grandfather, favorite uncle, great-
uncle and longtime friend, is the
keeper of all the treasured stories
of the family’s history spanning
a century of fleeing Russian
pogroms, growing up in Detroit,
the great Depression, fighting in
Italy in WWII and starting his own
family in 1950s. He was the first
of three generations to attend the
University of Michigan. He started
a dental practice that has become
the foundation for a second-generation office. •

their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married Dec. 29, 1957,
at Temple Israel in Detroit. The
couple have been blessed with
three children, seven grandchil-
