Interment took place at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

DR. BRUCE M.
SIEGAN, known as Bud
to his family and child-
hood friends, died at
home in Ann Arbor,
Dec. 26, 2017, at the age
of 81.
He grew up in
Siegan
Northwest Detroit and
was in one of the first
graduating classes of
Mumford High School.
His formal education was completed at
the University of Michigan, culminating
in his medical degree in 1964. Following
a residency at the Lafayette Clinic in
Detroit, he returned to Ann Arbor where
he made his home and practiced psy-
chiatry.
Bud had an insatiable interest in
many areas of life, from mathemat-
ics, computers and engineering to the
natural world, travel, the environment,
photography and the arts. He was a
voracious reader and left behind a large
library. He loved to engage in discus-
sions on a myriad of topics and always
took an interest in his family and friends
and what they were doing. Numerous
people have commented that he was a
warm, friendly and kind person to speak
with at social gatherings.
One of his principal interests was
attending musical performances, and
he held season tickets to the University
Musical Society performances at Hill
and Rackham auditoriums, which he
steadfastly attended for more than 50
years.
He is survived by his loving sisters
and brother, Cherie Chosid (Richard);
Renee Siegan (Dr. Timothy Brennan);
Dr. Steven Siegan (Dr. Lisa Vickery);
his nieces and nephews, Robin Chosid-
Brown (Chip Brown), Pamela Chosid,
Matthew Chosid (Katie), Paul Brennan
(Kaelyn), Nathaniel Brennan (Marlena),
Julia Brennan; great-nieces and great-
nephews, Joshua and Sarah Joseph,
Harrison Brown, and Hannah, Benjamin
and Rachel Chosid; many cousins and
friends.
Bud was the first-born, beloved son
of the late Dr. Sidney Siegan and the
late Ruth Starman Siegan. He was also
predeceased by his dear friend, Andrea
Weinschenk.
