She is also the granddaughter of the
late Karen Blackman.
Lexi is a student at Geisler Middle
School in Commerce. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was
volunteering this summer at the
Miracle League through the West
Bloomfield-based Friendship Circle.

Maurice and Bernice Betman
celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary on Dec. 22. They
will have a family celebration
in January with their four sons,
Jeffrey, Ronald (Shelley), Michael
(Lisa) and Marc (the late Diane).
They will also be joined by their
seven grandchildren. •

Ryan attends Hillel Day School of

Hills. As part of his mitzvah experi-
ence, he volunteered at Temple Israel
for the Free Fresh Food Pantry and
found helping to combat hunger in
our community to be the most mean-
ingful of his many mitzvah projects.

Max Young

Hailey Hope Young (Chava Tikvah)
and Max Chaim Young (Melech
Chaim) will be called to the Torah
as b’nai mitzvah on Saturday Jan. 13,
at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield. They are the loving twins
of Esther and Carlito Young and the
grandkids of Paul and Roberta Ingber,
and the late Carl and Patricia Young.
They are students at Derby Middle
School in Birmingham. For their mitz-
vah projects, they are donating some
of their own money to the Bear Hug
Foundation so that underpriviledged
kids can enjoy summer camp as much
as they do.
