died Dec. 18,
2017.
He is survived
by his son and
daughter-in-

Dembs; daugh-
ter, Marcia Bell;
sister, Faye Jacobs; brother-in-
law, Benjamin (Annie) Friedman;
grandchildren, Lauren (Randy)
Lesson, Ryan (Lindsay) Dembs
and Bethani (Danny) Farago;
great-grandchildren, Corey,
Joshua, Jillian, Dylan, Harrison
and Andrew; many loving nieces,
nephews, other family members
and friends.
Mr. Dembs was the beloved
husband of the late Ann Dembs;
the father-in-law of the late
Stephen Bell; brother-in-law of
the late Jerry Jacobs.
Interment took place at
Beth Abraham Cemetery in
Ferndale. Contributions may be
made to JARC or to a charity of
one’s choice. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

SHIRLEY FRIEDMAN, 92, of
West Bloomfield, died Dec. 20,
2017.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters, Rochelle Surowitz and
Cheryl Gonzalez; son and
daughter-in-law, Paul and Jill
Friedman; grandchildren, Stacy
(Craig) Walkon, Brian (Dana)
Surowitz, Lance Friedman,
Adam Friedman, Dawn (Charlie)
Aouina, Bradley Gonzalez, Nikki
(Eric) Migdal; great-grandchil-
dren, Bradley, Andrew, Julia,
Carter, Destiny and Paige; many
other loving family members and
friends.
Mrs. Friedman was the beloved
wife of the late Melvin Friedman;
the grandmother of the late
Joanne Surowitz; the mother-in-
law of the late David Surowitz
and the late Chuck Gonzalez.
Interment took place at
Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
Contributions may be made to
the American Cancer Society.
